In a heartbreaking case that has shaken southwest Houston, the body of 23-year-old Ashanti Allen, who was eight months pregnant with her first child, was discovered on Thursday, April 16, 2026, near Chimney Rock Park after a multi-day search. Ashanti Allen was last seen on or around April 8, 2026, leaving her residence in the 8700 block of Main Street, near McNee Road and Main Street. Family members grew increasingly concerned when they could not reach her and received unusual communications, including a text message to her mother suggesting she was “leaving and never coming back.” Allen was reported missing around April 10 or 11, prompting an urgent search effort involving Houston Police Department (HPD) investigators and volunteers from Texas EquuSearch.
On the morning of April 16, search teams located Allen’s body near a bayou in the area of Chimney Rock Road and West Belfort, close to Chimney Rock Park. Investigators confirmed her identity at the scene. Her cause of death has not yet been publicly released, pending the results of an autopsy.
